Email sent by IRES/Emerald Landing to the Mayor and other elected officials 1-4-22

Thank you for stating the main culprits to this horrendous and dangerous condition that exists along Northlake Way. The tow truck driver and still no enforcement of the 72-hour parking law.

The trail is at least 70% blocked in various spots between Dunn Lumber and Emerald Landing. At least 6 trailers are not connected to any vehicles, at least one completely burned out, a few RVs, trailers or vans that all windows are blown out, with tires flat, a canopy on stilts ready to collapse and the filth…. Needles, excrement, and  garbage strewn all thruout.

It was reported to me that on December 23rd around 8:30pm an employee from one of our buildings was passing Dunn Lumber heading west and there was a very large group of people walking in the middle of Northlake way, in the dark going to the westward to watch the Christmas ships. He quickly braked and swerved to abruptly stop from hitting any of these pedestrians. These people could not use the trail to walk safely to their destination so they had to use the street.

This has been said before yet once again, will it take a severe accident or death(s) to get attention on this deplorable issue on Northlake Way?

Please, we ask for help.
