“Someone is going to get hurt soon, you can just tell.”
- Quote from email sent to you on 6/23/21
Well, we saw this coming: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/crime/man-found-dead-after-apparent-shooting-near-gas-works-park-early-monday/ We all know this is related to what’s happening on Northlake. This murder is just yards away from the group you toured with on 5/24/21.
I’m not sure what to do anymore. We met with you on 5/24/21 and have since expressed our concern in multiple emails. For some examples, I’ve attached emails from 6/23, 7/6 and 7/29
I will ask again, is there any update on:
- How we can move forward on the Magnusson Park Plan (see previous emails attached where we’ve asked this same question)
- When the parking moratorium might end?
- Northlake has turned into an automotive shop. See below photos from yesterday. We previously sent photos of RV residents cleaning their paint brushes in the lake and two completely burned out vehicles. Where is the environmental concern for all of this??? All this oil, garbage, drugs, feces, etc. is washing straight into the lake.
Please help! On Northlake we’ve sat and watched for too long:
- The amount of RV’s grow to over 40
- Garbage, vandalism, feces, continue to grow
- Drug deals, needles, and people extremely high
- Stolen goods in front of our eyes which we saw on our tour (amazon boxes, electric bikes, cars, golf clubs, etc.)
- Patrons of our businesses getting their cars broken into (too many to count)
- Fire next to the electrical station
- Signs of prostitution and children being involved
- …….and now murder.
Shockingly, this has all happened since our tour on 5/24. And even more shocking, we’ve only shared some of the problems we’ve encountered during that time. We have photos/examples of all of the above yet nothing happens. What will it take for us to see some improvement/enforcement? How many more lives will be lost because of our inaction? At this point I think we are looking for “any” sign of support. We need someone to take a stand. I know everyone on this email string will do anything asked of us if we can see this situation improve. The plan can no longer be “do nothing” as we can’t afford another death due to the lack of this cleanup.
Can you please get back to us on items 1-3 above? We need a plan and we need your help. If the response is nothing will happen until we change our political landscape that’s fine. Sad, but fine. If that is the case, then just tell us we can’t do anything and we are stuck with this. However, I know all of us in District #4 thought we could get more creative than the option of doing nothing.
Sorry if my tone has changed, however, someone died this week because of our inaction………….and I have no doubt another murder will follow, likely sooner rather than later, if we continue doing nothing.
Please help. Please.
